CHIKKAMAGALUR: The police imposed a fine on a man, seized his scooter and got its registration certificate (RC) cancelled after his minor son was caught on camera popping wheelies in the heart of the town.
On Monday evening, the minor son of Yaseen was popping wheelies near the DC-SP offices with another youngster riding pillion. Their act was captured on the dashcam of a car coming from behind.
After the video was widely circulated the Chikkamagalur traffic police tracked down the vehicle owner, seized the scooter and got the RC cancelled apart from imposing a fine on Yaseen.
Locals have pointed out that may youths perform stunts on two-wheelers in thickly populated areas, posing a danger to other motorists. They have demanded that the police take strict action against such elements.
