BENGALURU: A man bit a motorist’s finger, causing severe injury, just because water splashed on his car near the Lulu Mall underpass in Okalipuram on May 25. The injured man underwent surgery and spent Rs 2 lakh on medical expenses.
The victim, identified as Jayanth, was bitten by a car driver over a trivial issue. Jayanth underwent surgery and doctors put five stitches. He was advised to take six months’ rest. Jayanth incurred a hospital bill of Rs 2 lakh for the treatment.
According to reports, Jayanth and his wife were driving from Majestic towards Lulu Mall when rainwater splashed on the adjacent car with the registration number KA 02 MT 0512, a Hyundai i20 . The driver of the other car stopped the couple and abused Jayanth though he apologised. The driver then followed Jayanth’s car from Majestic underpass to Lulu Mall underpass, blocked his way and assaulted him.
The accused pulled Jayanth out of his car and punched him in the face. The accused bit Jayanth’s ring finger in such a way that it caused severe injury and skin came out. An FIR has been registered against the car driver at the Magadi Road police station, and further investigation is under way.
