CHITRADURGA: A man attempted to kill his girlfriend by slitting her neck with a sickle at Sultanpura village in the taluk on Monday night. The woman is now battling for life in a hospital.
Dadapeer and Sameena (25) were living together in a shed and, over the last one month, they had arguments on a few occasions. On Monday night, a quarrel broke out again and, in a fit of rage, Dadapeer tried to slit Sameena’s neck with a sickle.
A profusely bleeding Sameena was lying in a pool of blood and was shifted to a hospital in Davanagere by some locals. She is now battling for life.
Immediately after committing the crime, Dadapeer has been on the run. The Bharamasagar police, who have registered a case, are on the lookout for the accused.
