BENGALURU: A man allegedly killed his girlfriend and attempted suicide at Wilson Garden in the city on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Shalini.
Manoj and Shalini were in a relationship for some years, but her family had arranged her marriage with someone else. Manoj went to her house and they had an argument about the issue. Upset over this, he killed her and tried to commit suicide at his residence in KP Agrahara. His family members have now admitted him to a hospital.
When Shalini’s parents came home and saw her dead, they immediately informed the police. The body was sent for the post-mortem examination. After the primary examination, doctors said that she was raped and murdered. Acting on this, the police reached Manoj’s house, but he was already admitted to the hospital.
A case has been registered at the Wilson Garden police station. Police sources said that after Manoj is discharged from hospital, he will be taken into custody and further investigation taken up.
