VIJAYAPURA: A man was brutally attacked with an iron rod over blowing cigarette smoke at Kannoora village in the taluk. The incident occurred on August 3 and has been caught on CCTV camera.
Mallappa Bellundagi was standing near Ravi Paan Shop in the village when the murderous assault was carried out on him. The CCTV footage shows a youth walking up to Mallappa from behind and raining blows repeatedly with an iron rod to the head.
Mallappa is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Three people suspected to be involved in the attack, Akshay, Sunil and Kumbar, are missing since the incident.
The Vijayapura Rural police have registered a case and are investigating.
