SHIVAMOGGA: A 38-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a young man while watching an orchestra performance at Shiralakoppa in Shikaripura taluk on Wednesday night.
Jayaram, a resident of Sagar, was assaulted by a young man who belonged to another religion. He had come to Shiralakoppa for two weeks after the death of his relative. After work, he went to watch an orchestra and went to the front of the crowd as he could not see the performance. A young man, who was standing behind him, allegedly assaulted him with bricks and stones for standing in front of him.
Jayaram questioned why he was beating him up and at that time, 15 people attacked him, leaving him badly injured. He is now undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident occurred in Shiralakoppa police limits.
