CHIKKAMAGALUR: A man was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor school girl several times after promising to marry her and threatening her not to reveal about the sexual assault. The accused has been identified as Guruprasad.
The accused had forced the girl, who is studying in a residential school, claiming that he was in love with her and promising to marry her. When she came home for the vacation to her village in NR Pura taluk, he took her to the forest where he sexually assaulted her.
Guruprasad allegedly threatened to kill the girl if she revealed about it. However, when she started to complain about pain in the stomach, her parents took her to a doctor when the sexual assault was revealed.
The Balehonnur police have arrested the accused and filed a case under the POCSO Act. Further investigation is under way.
