RAICHUR: A Class 9 girl student has been found pregnant at a village in Maski taluk, and the police have arrested a 25-year-old man who is accused of impregnating her and forcing her to undergo an abortion.
The accused, Shivu, allegedly enticed the girl and took her away and impregnated her. The pregnancy came to light after the girl was hospitalised due to excessive bleeding. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and is recovering.
A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and kidnapping charges at Maski police station. The police have arrested the accused and produced him before the court.
