BENGALURU: A man who faked his identity on a dating app and cheated a woman has been arrested by the Amruthahalli police.
The arsested Mudassir had created a profile posing as Anirudh on the dating app Bumble and got in touch with a woman. Over a course of time, he managed to convince her that he would marry her. Later, he borrowed Rs 1 lakh from her stating that his mother was unwell.
When the woman went to meet him, she found out that he was not Anirudh, but was in fact Mudassir. She then lodged a complaint with the Amruthahalli police.
During investigation, the police found out that Mudassir was already married and had registered on the app to cheat women. Further investigation is under way.
