Man arrested for cultivating ganja, illegal trading in wildlife items

Wildlife parts and a country-made gun with ammunition were seized from a house in Gundlupet taluk.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: The cyber crime police on Friday raided the house of a man who had cultivated ganja plants and also seized 5 kg of deer meat, five claws of bears and 21 claws of wild cats.

The raid was conducted on the house of Shivanaga Shetty at Annurkeri in Gundlupet taluk. The police also seized a country-made gun used for hunting wild animals and 30 rounds of ammunition.

The police are now on the lookout for two more persons involved in ganja and wildlife trade.
