BENGALURU:  A man was arrested for allegedly groping a woman when she was about to enter the gate of her house on Tuesday night.

The woman shared a video of the accused on her X handle and posted a series of tweets condemning the incident. The City police have sought for more information on the incident after seeing her tweets.

On Tuesday night, the woman took a ride from her friend till near her house, and when she was about to open the gate, the unidentified man allegedly groped her from behind and started running.

She posted the video of the man and narrated the incident on her social media handle and also tagged the City police.  “This is how things are going in Bengaluru and the question is, Where is the safety for girls?” she asked.

She also said she would not complain about the incident. “If an FIR is registered, I will have to visit the court for numerous time for the trial”, she said and added that it is like mental torture.

Taking to her ‘X’ handle, the victim narrated the incident stating, “Last night in #NammaBengaluru a friend of mine dropped me near my house, and as I was about to open the gate, this man came and groped me from behind and started running. I called my friend and asked him to stop him before he rode away. *continued”

“In this video, the man is accepting what he has done. My friend was there to catch hold of him, and had it not been the case, we never know what could have happened, and he would not have been caught. We called the Bangalore Police on site, and he was taken to jail”, she wrote.

In the later post, she wrote, “To everyone asking why I left him? I did not, I have filed a complaint against him, and he has accepted what he did in front of cops. The reason behind posting this is to spread awareness and show how there are loopholes in the Constitution that would anyway get him out.”
