BENGALURU: Amidst the buzz of the ‘November Revolution’ in state politics, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge at his Sadashivanagar residence late Friday night and the two engaged in over an hour-long discussion.

The meeting, which comes amid speculation about power-sharing and cabinet reshuffling, saw Kharge advising Shivakumar to remain patient and assuring him that his loyalty to the party and high command will be rewarded. Kharge advised him to be wait for the right time.

Sources indicated that Kharge suggested waiting until after the Bihar elections for further discussions and potential cabinet changes, with the high command closely monitoring developments in the state. “The high command also has some thoughts in mind, let’s talk about everything after the Bihar elections”, Kharge assured Shivakumar.

The Congress high command is likely to initiate talks after the Bihar Assembly polls, which could see a cabinet reshuffle if both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister agree. There are possibilities that about 17 to 18 ministers will be dropped from the cabinet and senior MLAs will be given priority considering regional balance, seniority, caste and local leadership.
