HASSAN: A wild elephant turned up in front of a house in search of food at Hebbanahalli village in Sakleshpur taluk on Wednesday.
In video footage, the lone elephant can be seen in front of the house looking for food. The house belongs to onen Lokesh of Hebbanahalli village. Later, the elephant went on to the village road and then entered a coffee plantation. On getting information, the Forest Department staff arrived at the spot.
For many years, herds of wild elephants have destroyed the crop. The villagers have given several complaints regarding the issue and the officials visited the spot and filed reports. The Forest Department officials are taking necessary precautions to avoid more harm to the villagers.
