BENGALURU: The Lokayukta police on Tuesday morning conducted searches at the offices and residences of several officials across the state in connection with disproportionate assets cases. The Lokayukta police have seized several documents and are going through the.
The Lokayukta police raided the home of Ajay Singh Rajput, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) with the District Urban Development Cell (DUDA) in Belagavi. The raid was conducted on allegations of corruption and disproportionate assets.
The Lokayukta team, led by Deputy SP BS Patil and Bharat Reddy, searched Rajput’s three houses in Belagavi, including one in Anjaneya Nagar and another in Athani. The searches reportedly uncovered gold jewellery weighing over 1 kg and deposits of Rs 2 crore in banks.
A Lokayukta police team the home and office of Shivanna, Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department in Ballari, early on Tuesday morning. The team searched Shivanna’s office and home in Siddharth Nagar, Ballari, and two other locations. The team also searched Shivanna’s official vehicle and seized some documents from it.
The raid is part of an investigation into complaints of corruption and illegal wealth against Shivanna. Over 10 complaints had been filed against him with the Lokayukta.
In Chitradurga, Tte Lokayukta police raided the home of Susheelamma, a retired accountant from the Chitradurga Nirmithi Centre, early on Tuesday morning. The raid uncovered assets worth over Rs 8 crore.Susheelamma had retired from service about a year ago.
The Lokayukta team, led by SP Vasudevaram and DYSP Mrithyunjay, searched her house at Medehalli in Chitradurga and a farmhouse in Yeradakatte village in Hiriyur taluk.
The search reportedly uncovered 11 plots, 30 acres of land, six houses, a commercial complex, and a vehicle worth Rs 43 lakh. The Lokayukta has seized documents related to these assets, alleging they were acquired through corruption and disproportionate wealth.
In Kodagu district, the Lokayukta police raided the office and residences of I K Puttaswamy, Acting Executive Engineer of the Harangi Dam over disproportionate assets.The raids were conducted at Puttaswamy’s home in Hassan’s Vidyanagar, a rented house in Mysuru’s Tilak Nagar, the Harangi Dam office and the Kushalanagar divisional office. The Lokayukta team is searching for evidence of his alleged illicit wealth.
The Lokayukta police also raided the home of Public Works Department (PWD) engineer R Revanna in Mandya over allegations of corruption and disproportionate assets. The Lokayukta team is investigating his involvement in amassing disproportionate assets. Raids were also conducted at his home and office in Mysuru The Lokayukta team was led by SP T J Udesh.
Raids were also conducted at six locations, including the houses of Shobha K R, District Officer of the Backward Classes Welfare Department in Shivamogga, and her associate Raghavendra.The raids were conducted at Shobha’s houses in Navile, Shivamogga, Chennakeshava Nagar, Shikaripura, and a farmhouse in Taralaghatta, as well as a school in Achapura, Sagar taluk. Raghavendra’s house in Cheluva Nagar, Shivamogga, and office in Devaraj Urs Bhavan were also searched.
