Lokayukta police conduct statewide searches on officials over disproportionate assets

BENGALURU: The Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids across the state on several officials in connection with amassing of disproportionate assets.

The Lokayukta police raided the residences of Gescom AEE Bhaskara R R at Akashvani Layout in Vijayanagar and at Hosapete and Ginigera in Koppal district. They also raided his office in Hagaribommanahalli and seized documents.

The officials also raided the office and residences of Dr Ravi, director of the Nandihalli PC centre of Krishnadevaraya University at Sandur. They searched his houses at Gandhi Nagar in Ballari, at Davanagere and the Sandur office.

Commercial tax officer Nethravathi’s residence in Tarikere in Chikkamagalur district was also raided and documents examined. Raids were also conducted on the office and houses of relatives.

The anti-corruption watchdog also raided KUWS&DB engineer P Ravikumar and searched his residences at Alanahalli village in Kollegalu taluk and in Mysuru. Food inspector Jagannath’s office and residence in Hassan were also raided. His brother and realtor Kiran’s house and office too were searched.

The Lokayukta police also searched Range Forest Officer Renukamma’s office in Hoovina Hadagali, residence in Gangavathi and farm house in Lingadahalli; Mandya PWD executive engineer Harsha’s office, quarters and residence in Vijayanagar, Bengaluru, father-in-law’s house and his Nagamangala farm house. The sleuths recovered 350 gm of gold, 2.5kg of silver and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash apart from 20 notes in foreign currency.

Mescom executive engineer Shantakumar’s office and residence at Derebail in Mangaluru and house in Bengaluru were also searched. In Mysuru, MUDA assistant executive engineer Yajnendra’s office, residence in JP Nagar and flat in Vijayanagar were searched.

In Tumakuru, the Lokayukta police raided the office of KRIDL executive engineer Hanumantharayappa in Koratagere, residence near Sira Gate and farm house in Madhugiri. They found 300 gm of gold and 500 gm of silver and Rs 50,000 in cash at the house. His total assets are said to be worth Rs 3.69 crore and he has bought an 8-acre plot in Gubbi taluk, two houses in Madhugiri and farm houses in Mallasandra and Badakanapalya.
