BENGALURU: The Lokayukta police conducted raids on government officials at 58 locations across the state and uncovered huge amounts of unaccounted wealth.
In Benglauru, the Lokayukta police raided four premises linked to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) chief engineer of the Yelahanka zone, Ranganath S P at Sadashivanagar, Yelahanka and at Gandhi Bazaar in Shivamogga.
Teams of officials raided his houses in Sadashivanagar and Yelahanka New Town and seized important documents. Ranganath has been chief engineer of Yelahanka zone for the last three years and prior to that, he was chief engineer of Dasarahalli zone.
In Bidar district, three locations linked to Karanja project executive engineeer Shivakumar Swami were simultaneously raided at Veerabhadreshwara Colony in Bidar, Nagur village in Bhalki taluk and his office in Bidar. while one location in Kalaburagi was also raided.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer Shanmumkappa Thirtha’s office in Jamakhandi of Bagalkot district and his residence in Vijayapura were also raided. In Chikkaballapur, KEIDL executive engineer Sadashivaiah’s office at Divine City and his houses at Yelahanka in Bengaluru and in Mysuru were raided.
Nidagundi panchayat development officer Sadashiva Jayappa Karagara house in Raibagh taluk, Range forest officer Mahesh Hiremath’s residence at Mookambika Nagar in Dharwad, Magadi Grameen Yojana deputy director Nagarajappa’s house at Yattakodi village in Malur taluk of Kolar district, Karwar Urban Development Authority Assistant Executive Engineer Prakash R Revankar’s residence and office, Excise DC Roopa’s office and houses in Karwar, Hosanagar in Shivamogga district and Mysuru were among the locations raided.
The Lokayukta police also raided Somwarpet EO Jayanna’s house in Kushalnagar and his office in Kadaba taluk of Dakshina Kannada, and assistant engineer Fayaz Ahmed’s house and office in Kushalnagar. They also raided the houses and office of Agasanapura gram panchayat village accountant Krishne Gowda in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district, Manchanayakanahalli gram panchayat PDO Yatish Chandra in Magadi taluk, his house in Mysuru and flat at Eagleton Resort, Mylanayakanahalli PDO Shiba’s residence in Channapatna.
