BENGALURU: A first-of-its-kind rage room has been opened in on Pattalamma Temple Road near South End Circle Metro station at Basavanagudi in the city. The concept, also known as anger rooms, is quite popular in western countries.

At Rage Room Bangalore, people can give vent to their frustration or destress by breaking glass, thermocol sheets, metal, bricks and other stuff in the safety of the room. Visitors can pick from various sessions, depending on the duration and they will give safety gear like jackets, goggles, etc.

Rage Room Bangalore offers a trial package of five minutes for Rs 99 for five minutes where visitors can break break thermocol sheets and three metal items. The cost a for 15 minute-session is Rs 299 and people can smash two beer bottles, one brick, four thermocol sheets and three metal items.

For Rs 699, people can break five beer bottles, three bricks, two plywood boards, one cardboard box, two plastic items, four thermocol sheets and three metal items.

The fourth package is of Rs 1,499 for 30 minutes. People can break 10 beer bottles, six bricks, one chair/table, three clay pots, one tubelight, two plywood boards, onecardboard box, two plastic items, four thermocol sheets and three metal items.

For Rs 2,999, a person can break one washing machine/television/fridge/AC/oven, 10 beer bottles, six bricks, one chair/table, three clay pots, one tubelight, two plywood boards, one cardboard box, two plastic items, four thermocol sheets and three metal items, in 45 minutes.

A punching bag, shooting targets with nerf gun+bullets, table tennis, softball and music of choice are included in all packages.

According the Rage Room Bangalore owner Ananya, it is a solution for mental stress. She said many people suffer from mental health issues. “If a person get angry at home, he may destroys TVs or glassware. The anger room concept is already popular in Western countries where people can let out their frustrations”.

“Some people may be suffering from mental stress and they need a sepearate space to vent out their anger in some sort of manner. The stress may affect their jobs, personal lives and relationships. I am getting good response than I expected and people are already booking their slots”.

Rage Room Bangalore seems to be already drawing a steady stream of visitors.

Manish, a visitor said, “There are beer bottles, wooden blocks, old TVs, vessels and other stuff. The first rage room opened in Hyderabad and now it has come to Bengaluru. Visitors are happy with the new concept as they can destress”.

“Beer bottles, thermocols sheets, bricks, punching bags, softballs have provided in the room. I enjoyed the activity as sometimes, we cannot let out our frustration before parents at home. I feel bit relaxed after coming here”, he added.

Another visitor said, “This is an unique concept and I have never had such an experience. We cannot let our stress show in front of the staff. After breaking some glass items, I felt much more relaxed. I hope it attracts many people”.
