BENGALURU: In a relief to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar and his family members, the Karnataka High Court has ordered interim stay on further investigation in the disproportionate case till February 24.

Shivakumar had filed a petition seeking quashing of the FIR and his lawyer C J Jadhav argued that he is being issued notices to hamper his electioneering and to mentally harass him. The family members are also being harassed with notices the lawyer pointed.

The CBI lawyer Prasanna Kumar then pointed out that Shivakumar’s daughter has properties worth Rs 150 crore and needs to be questioned. He also said the investigation will go on for another six moths only then a final report will be submitted.

The single-judge bench of the high court then asked the CBI to submit a report on the progress of investigation on February 24 and ordered interim stay on the probe till then.

Reacting to the development, Shivakumar said, “There are some 40 cases against me. I have faith in the courts and in the law. I have received a notice in the National Herald case too, but I am currently busy. I have not done any wrong and I will speak at a later date”.
