KSRTC ups fare on Bengaluru-Mysuru route after second toll introduced on expressway

The KSRTC has increased bus fares after the new toll at Ganangur was introduced.

BENGALURU: With a second toll being introduced on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway at Ganangur on Srirangapatna taluk, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has hiked bus fares on the route with effect from July 4.

From July 1, a separate toll being levied on vehicles apart from the one at Kaniminike in Ramanagara district. For a single journey, a toll of Rs 525 is levied on buses and accordingly, the KSRTC has increased the fares.

Now, travel on the route by an ordinary bus will cost Rs 15 more, by Rajahamsa Rs 20 and by Volvo and Power Plus electric bus by Rs 30.

When the toll was started at the Kaniminike plaza earlier, the KSRTC has increased bus fares by Rs 20-35. Now, with a further increase due to the second toll, travellers are going to feel the pinch.
