Kodigehalli police inspector suspended for sexually harassing woman complainant

BENGALURU: A police inspector has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him after a woman complained that he misbehaved with her and sent her lewd messages.

The woman had gone to the Kodigehalli police station to lodge a complaint when police inspector Rajanna took her number. He then started texting her lewd messages and even sought sexual favours.

Kodigehalli inspector Rajanna has been suspended pending departmental inquiry.

Armed with evidence, the woman lodged a complaint against the inspector following with DCP Lakshmi Prasad ordered an ACP-level inquiry against the inspector.

After it was prima facie established that the inspector had misbehaved with the woman, Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy has ordered his suspension pending a departmental inquiry.
