BENGALURU: With the prices of Nandini milk set to rise, consumers may have to deal with yet another shock. The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is now considering reducing the extra milk provided with each one litre and half-litre packets and may also increase the price of milk.
Currently, KMF provides 50 ml and 100 ml of extra milk with each half-litre and litre packet, respectively. However, due to the summer season, milk production has decreased by 10-15 per cent, making it challenging to maintain the current supply.
As a result, KMF may reduce the extra milk provided and increase the price of milk. The government is already considering a price hike, and it’s possible that even if the extra milk is reduced, the price may still be increased. The KMF has decided to hold a meeting to discuss this issue, and a decision is expected before the price hike.
