BENGALURU: Bengaluru citizens have been warned to be cautious when visiting clinics for fever, cold, cough, stomach pain and headaches as several fake clinics have mushroomed in the city. The Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) has launched a crackdown on many unlicenced clinics.

In one such instance, a doctor named Aziz, who had studied Unani medicine, was found prescribing allopathic medicines without a licence in Koramangala. The KMC raided the clinic and shut it down.

The KMC has registered a case under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment (KPME) Act and closed down the clinic.

Dr Bharat revealed that Aziz had been operating a fake clinic for over 10 years. The KMC has made it clear that such actions will be taken against all unlicenced clinics, and citizens are advised to be vigilant when seeking medical treatment.
