BENGALURU: The kingpin in the fake medicine sale racket case, Prashant, was arrested by the special investigation team (SIT) at th Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) early on Monday. He was produced before a court and remanded to the custody of the SIT for 10 days.
Prashant, who was hiding in Azerbaijan, was arrested by Customs officers there and deported. The SIT arrested him at the Bengaluru Airport immediately after he landed from a flight at 3.45 am. It is believed that Prashant had joined hands with some government officers and private hospitals who helped in racket.
Immediately after nabbing Prashant at the airport, the SIT took him to the CID office and later brought him to the police commissioner’s office where he was questioned by SPs Lokesh, Shivaprakash Devaraju and DySP Anjan Kumar.
