BENGALURU: The demolition of the late Vishnuvardhan’s memorial at Abhiman Studio on August 2 sparked outrage among fans, who are demanding its reconstruction on the same site. Meanwhile, a new memorial for Vishnuvardhan is being planned to be built near Abhiman Studio in Bengaluru.
Kichcha Sudeep, a fan of Vishnuvardhan, has gifted half an acre of land near Kengeri for the construction of the memorial. The Vishnu Sena committee president Veerakaputra Srinivas is working on building the memorial with the help of fans.
The memorial, named ‘Darshana Kendra’, will feature a large statue of Vishnuvardhan and is expected to be completed soon. The foundation stone for the new memorial will be laid on September 18, and preparations have also been made for the celebrate ‘Vishnuvardhan Amritmahotsava’, which marks Vishnuvardhan’s 75th birth anniversary.
The Vishnu Sena committee is also pursuing a legal battle for the reconstruction of the original tomb at Abhiman Studio and has demanded a judicial inquiry into the demolition. The committee has also announced plans to celebrate Vishnuvardhan’s birth anniversary and death anniversary in a grand manner.
