BENGALURU: Power consumers in the state can expect a hike in tariffs in the coming months with all the electricity supply companies (Escoms) seeking a revision.
Following this, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) is holding public Adalats in different cities on February 13 wherein citizens can present their suggestions, grievances, etc. After perusing through all the suggestion, the KERC will announce its decision.
The Escoms have already sought an increase of Rs 1.5-2 per unit. Last Apri. the tariff was increased by 35 paise per unit and in last September the Fuel Adjustment Cost (FAC) was raised from 24 paise to 43 paise.
However, with the Assembly elections coming up, the Escoms may raise the tariffs only later.
