Kerala couple caught for conversion attempt in Kodagu village

The couple were in the village, allegedly to convert some poor people

MADIKERI: Just a day after the anti-conversion law got the governor’s nod, a case of conversion has come to light in Ponnampet taluk.

Kuriyachan and Selenamma, a couple from Padinjarathara in Kerala, arrived at Manchalli village in a car (KL 12 N 2494) and were allegedly trying to convert some poor families. However, they were caught red-handed by activists of some Hindu groups.

Later, the couple was handed over to the Kutta police, who are questioning them.

Of late, several cases of attempted conversion have come to light in the villages along the Kodagu-Kerala border.
