KAS officer’s wife commits suicide, police register case of unnatural death

BENGALURU: A high court lawyer and wife of a Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) officer committed suicide by hanging at their house in Sanjaynagar on Saturday. The deceased is Chaitra while her husband is Shivakumar

In a death note which was recovered, Chaitra wrote, ‘I am just leaving’ and added that she had had enough in life. However, her brother raised suspicion following which the police have registered a case under Section 174C of CrPC.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Saidulu Adavath said they received information around 1 pm and when a police team visited the house, they found Chaitra hanging from a ceiling fan.

“Based on the brother’s complaint, we have registered a case of unnatural death. The death note was written in March wherein she has said that she was suffering from depression and was unable to overcome it”, he said.

The DCP further said that the death note had a message for her husband wherein she asked him to look after their daughter well and to enjoy life. “She has signed the death note. We have taken up further investigation”, he added.
