BENGALURU: The Primary Education Department is considering implementing the ‘Water Bell’ concept to encourage children to drink water during school hours. This concept has already been implemented in Kerala schools.
The water bell is rung twice a day in Kerala, at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. The air is to remind children to drink water during this time. Siscussions are already under way at the Education Department level about implementing water bell concept in Karnataka schools too.
This programme aims to encourage children to drink more water in schools. Drinking more water is good for children’s health and the goal is to create awareness about this in schools.
The plan is to ring the Water Bell 2-3 times a day to remind children to drink water and create awareness about the importance of water for good health. The concept is expected to be implemented soon.
