BENGALURU: The state government on Thursday launched the ‘Yuvanidhi Scheme’ to support the youths through the Commissionerate of Industrial Training and Employment under the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood.
There are 5,29,123 graduates and diploma holders across Karnataka state as per the survey conducted by Higher Education Department. Out of this, 4,81,000 are graduates and 48,153 are diploma holders. A budgetary allocatio of Rs 250 crore has been made for Yuvanidhi scheme, a press release said.
All graduates/post graduates and diploma holders who have passed in 2023 are eligible to get the benefit of the scheme under which Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment assistance is given to degree holders and Rs 1,500 to diploma holders. The amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries every month.
The benefit will be given to those who do not get job even after completion of 180 days from the date of passing the degree/diploma. The candidates are required to prove domicile of Karnataka for minimum of 6 years. To be eligible for the scheme, candidates should have studied in the academic year 2022-23 and have passed graduation/diploma in 2023. Candidates should be from the domicile of Karnataka during the course of graduation and diploma for a minimum of six years.
Candidates employed in government/government aided institutions and private sector, those who are self-employed or continuing higher education are excluded from the Yuvanidhi scheme.
Eligible candidates can log on to Sevasindhu portal http://sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.inand check their academic
certificates through NAD Portal link http://nad.karnataka.gov.in using their degree/diploma registration number which are already uploaded from the respective universities/education institutions/boards. For this, link is also provided in the Sevasindhu Home page. Candidates can also apply through KarnatakaOne, Bapuji Seva Kendra, GramaOne Kendras without paying any application charges.
Candidates should select their caste categories, enter their active mobile number and get an OTP, enter e-mail address and re-authenticate through OTP. The application process will be finally completed after candidate makes a self-declaration. After completion of the application process, candidate will receive an SMS on the registered mobile number. An acknowledgement will be generated and it can be downloaded by the candidates.
Unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month will be given to graduates and Rs1,500 per month to diploma holders, who remain unemployed after completion of 180 days of declaration of results. The allowance will be given for a period of two years from the date of announcement of the result or till he/she becomes employed/self-employed whichever is earlier.
Candidates shall self-declare about unemployment status on Sevasindhu portal on or before 25th of every month through Aadhaar OPT. The benefit will be credited to the eligible applicant’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account through DBT.
