Karnataka governor Gehlot’s car driver dies after cardiac arrest while on duty

BENGALURU: Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s car driver died after he suffered a cardiac arrest while on duty at Kempegowda International Airport on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi Kumar Kale (46). On Saturday night, Ravi Kumar had gone to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to pick up the governor, who was arriving from Hubballi. When he arrived at the airport, Ravi Kumar started having chest pain, and was immediately taken to a hospital in Devanahalli, where he died.

Ravi Kumar has been working as the governor’s main car driver since Thaawarchand Gehlot took over as governor of the state. He was in service for the last 16 years. The governor paid his tribute at Raj Bhavan. The final rites will be held at Ravi Kumar’s residence in Dharwad.
