BALLARI: An employee at the Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, who had returned home on leave, committed suicide by hanging from a tree. The deceased was identified as Maruthi (35).
Maruthi had returned to his native village MB Aiyyanahalli in Kudligi taluk a couple of days ago. He had dropped off his wife and children at this in-laws’ house and had gone to MB Aiyyanahalli to visit his parents. However, he ended his life by hanging from a tamarind tree on the outskirts of Kanahosalli.
Maruthi was working in the kitchen at the Karnataka Bhavan and was said to be under depression. However, the exact motive for his suicide was yet to be established. Based on a complaint lodged by his wife, a case has been registered at the Kanahalli police station.
