BENGALURU: Senior advocate Kapil Sibal is likely to argue in favour of Darshan in the Supreme Court in the case related to his bail in the Renukaswamy murder case. The Bengaluru police have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court opposing the bail granted to Darshan and it is likely to come up for hearing soon.
Darshan’s legal team has approached Kapil Sibal and he has been provided with the case history, documents related arguments and counters in the High Court. Discussions have also taken place regarding court fees. If Kapil Sibal agrees to argue in favour of Darshan, he may appear in the court on March 18.
Actor Darshan, his close friend Pavithra Gowda and other accused were granted regular bail on December 13. The Bengaluru police filed an appeal in the Supreme Court at the end of December, questioning the High Court’s verdict. The government, through advocate Anil Nishani, had filed an appeal with 1,492 pages of documents..
The 1,492 pages of documents include the High Court bail order, a copy of the FIR and complaint registered at Kamakshipalya police station, the post-mortem report, the grounds of arrest of the accused, a translated copy of the final report submitted to the court, a translated copy of the statements of eyewitnesses, the report of the forensic science laboratory (FSL), the call detail records, the panchanama report, the analysis of the digital materials seized from the accused, a copy of the order dismissing the bail application in the sessions court, a copy of the interim bail order granted to Darshan, a medical report submitted about Darshan from jail, and a report from the BGS Hospital doctor.
