Kannada flag set on fire in Belagavi village

A Kannada flag was found partially burnt in a Belagavi village.

BELAGAVI: Miscreants set fire to a Kannada flag at Sangolli Rayanna Circle in Sulaga village in the taluk on the first day of the new year, drawing the anger of pro-Kannada groups.

The incident comes at a time when Kannnada activists are demanding that 60 per cent of nameboards of commercial establishments should be in Kannada.

The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) has called for immediate action against the those responsible. The incident occurred in Kakati police limits and further investigation is under way.
