Jetlag owner and Sandalwood film producer commits suicide over financial issues

BENGALURU: Popular Sandalwood film producer Soundarya Jagadish committed suicide over alleged financial issues at his residence in Mahalakshmi Layout. The body was kept at Suguna Hospital, Rajajinagar.

Along with film production, Soundarya Jagadish was also a businessman and builder who has produced popular films including ‘Appu and Pappu’, ‘Mast Maja Maadi’, ‘Ramleela’, and ‘Snehitaru’. He had got his daughter married off recently.

Recently, the success party of the movie ‘Katera’s at Jetlag pub, owned by him, drew huge media attention. Following the controversy over the party, the Jetlag Restaurant’s licence was canceled for 25 days. Jagadish’s wife Rekha is the founder and director of the pub.

It is said in his close circles that Jagadish was depressed after huge financial loss. Hence, he was kept away from producing films in recently days. He is survived by his wife Rekha Jagadish, son and actor Snehit, his daughter and a large circle of relatives and friends from the film industry.+
