MANDYA: In the light of the series of allegations, pictures of former PM H D Deve Gowda’s older son H D Revanna have suddenly been removed from all the JD(S) hoardings and billboards in the district. The is believed to have been taken to prevent any embarrassment to the party and the Deve Gowda family.

After former CM and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy was sworn in as Union minister in the NDA government, several hoardings and billboards were put up in Mandya and other parts of the district to congratulate him. Interestingly, pictures of BJP leaders B S Yediyurappa, B Y Vijayendra and Sumalatha Ambareesh figure on the hoardings along with former minister H Vishwanath and former MLA CS Puttaraju.

Though Revanna has not been expelled from the party after his arrest in a kidnapping case and subsequent bail, the JD(S) seems to be playing it safe. Revanna’s his wife Bhavani has secured anticipatory bail in the same case. While the couple’s younger son and former MP Prajwal Revanna is in judicial custody in a sexual assault case, the older son Suraj Revanna has been arrested in a case of unnatural sex.

The developments have dented the family’s image and the party seems to be playing it safe for now by avoiding Revanna’s pictures on hoardings.
