BENAGLURU: The Jayanagar police have arrested a notorious honeytrap gang, including two women. The accused are Annamma and Sneha.
The duo had honeytrapped Sudhindra, a retired government officer and demanded money. Earlier, Annamma had taken Rs 5,000 from him citing financial problems. Later, she called Sudhindra to an OYO room where she got physical with him and recorded a video of it.
They then used the same video to blackmail him and extort money every now and then. The gang also extorted money by threatening to send the intimate videos on WhatsApp to his colleagues and friends.
Sudhindra received a blackmail call not only from Annamma but also from her friend Sneha. Between them, they extorted Rs 82 lakh and kept pressuring him.
The retired officer complained to the Jayanagar police later as he could not bear their blackmail and greed for money. The Jayanagar police had registered a complaint and started an investigation.
