ISRO former chairman Kasturirangan suffers cardiac arrest in Colombo, airlifted to Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Former chairman of ISRO and popular scientist Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan suffered a cardiac arrest while he was in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was immediately airlifted from there to Bengaluru.

He was brought to the HAL airport in Bengaluru around 5.30 pm and then admitted to Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital. Preparations had been made to conduct an angiogram on Kasturirangan under the guidance of Dr Devi Shetty. Currently, his health status is being monitored.

Kasturirangan is a recipient of the country’s highest civilian awards such as the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and Padma Shri.
