India is on the Moon, announces Isro chief Somanath

NEW DELHI: “India is on the Moon”, Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) chief S Somanath announced on Wednesday evening as the Chandrayaan-3 lander module Vikram made a safe and soft landing on the Moon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who joined in to witness the historic occasion from Johannesburg, South Africa, said, “Historic day for India’s space sector. Congratulations to @isro
for the remarkable success of Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission”.
