Independent candidate raises deposit money by seeking donations from 10,000 households over a year

Yenkappa, the independent candidate from Yadgir, raised money for the deposit by seeking donations.

YADGIR: An independent candidate, has raised money for the deposit amount by going around the Yadgir Assembly constituency and collecting money from houses. On Wednesday, he filed his nomination papers along with the money he had raised.

Over the last one year, Yenkappa, had been going around the soliciting donations of Re 1 from each household in the Assembly constituency.

Yankappa submitted his nomination along with the money he had raised from people.

“I will dedicate my life to the people of my community and villagers. I came to the returning officer with posters of Swami Vivekananda’s ideologies written on them”, Yankappa said.

Over the course of a year, he raised Rs 10,000 rupees from 10,000 houses, even as he sought alms and and stayed in temples. He submitted his nomination papers with the deposit money he had raised so far.
