The pastor allegedly conducted a sermon before Jaya assumed office as in-charge headmistress.

BALLARI: A teacher at a government girls’ high school here invited a church pastor to conduct a prayer before she assumed office as in-charge headmistress. She even got the pastor to sit on the headmistress’ chair after the sermon.

A few teacher and some other anonymous persons have since complained to the primary education minister, department secretary, the district deputy commissioner and the deputy director of public instruction (DDPI) demanding action against Joy (Jaya) for inviting a pastor to a government institution for conducting a prayer before she took charge.

The pastor even sat on the headmistress’ chair.

However, Joy, the in-charge headmistress, has denied the allegation and claimed that the pastor visited the school after she had assumed charge to congratulate her. He did not conduct any prayer, she maintained.

“Pastor Kumar is my brother and he had come to congratulate me. Some people are making baseless allegations against me”, she insisted.
