BENGALURU: Karnataka will witness heavy rainfall, while the foggy and cold conditions will continue for the next two days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for coastal Karnataka on Tuesday.
Due to the continuous rain as a result of the cyclonic effect, shopping malls, BMTC and KSRTC buses, hotels and streets appeared empty due to the incessant rain. On Monday, the city recorded 2 cm of rainfall and the lowest minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. The weather department said that between December 13 and 16, the minimum temperature will be 18-19 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 25-28 degrees Celsius.
“There may be heavy rainfall for two days and the foggy and cold weather conditions will also continue. The city’s minimum temperature was 16 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures was 24 degrees Celsius. The sky will be cloudy and there will be heavy rainfall along the coast of Karnataka, as well as whirlwinds in the Bay of Bengal. A yellow alert has been issued for coastal Karnataka”, said Prasad, a meteorologist.
