HUBBALLI: “I was deeply hurt and depressed after witnessing the brutal murder of my sister Anjali. I was witness to the crime and I had decided to commit suicide”, said Yashodha, the sister of deceased Anjali Ambigera.
Four days after the Anjali’s murder, victim’s sister Yashodha, who participated in the protest held on Saturday to condemn the murder, tried to commit suicide by consuming phenyl after returning home. Locals immediately rushed her to KIMS Hospital where she has recovered. It is said that Yashodha was seriously ill and lost consciousness during the protest.
After being discharged from the hospital, she said, “I have faith in Niranjan (Hiremath) and Anup uncle than in the police. Now, the accused is being treated as per court order. He is portraying my sister improper light and it hurts me. He is just lying and spreading rumours”.
Yashoda demanded that the accused Girish a.k.a. Vishwa should be awarded death sentence or eliminated in an encounter.
The accused had gained entry into the house of Anjali Ambigera (21) in Veerapur Oni while she was sleeping. Later, Anjali was dragged around the house and stabbed to death in front of her grandmother and two sisters.
