BENGALURU: The Income Tax Department on Monday raided the offices of Sobha Developers at Hoodi on Whitefield Road and near Arekere on Bannerghatta Road.

Teams of IT officials from Bengaluru and Chennai arrived in about 50 vehicles and five teams of 10 officials each conducted simultaneous raids.

The teams were examining files and other documents and were accompanied by police personnel. Karnataka Congress president D K Shivakumar is believed to have a stake in the real estate company.

All work at the head office of the realty firm had come to a stop and employees were told to remain indoors even as the police kept watch outside.
