MYSURU: State BJP vice-president Tejaswini Ananthkumar, wife of late BJP leader H N Ananthkumar has put to rest all speculation about her leaving the party. Earlier, there was a buzz that she may be joining the Congress, which she later quashed. She met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with her family recently on a call from the PM.

Responding to questions from media persons in the city about the meeting with PM Modi, she said it was only an informal meeting. “We had some political discussion and also talked about recent developments”, she said.

“I never worked with any expectations, now I am serving through Adamya Chethana Trust. I have never asked for a chance earlier, and I haven’t this time too. There is a lot of time for the Lok Sabha polls. At present, I am working as vice-president of the state BJP, and I have always been with the party”, Tejaswini asserted.

“I am wedded to the party. I am ideologically committed to the BJP,” she stressed. “This will be the second Lok Sabha election after the death of Ananthkumar. I will be with the party, and the party will also be with me as it was built and raised by Ananth Kumar. I have already made it clear. A suitable Leader of the opposition will be selected, wait and see”, she said. Changes are constant while victory and failure are integral parts of life, Tejaswini noted.

“We have confidence that we will win by making some changes in the party”, Tejaswini said about next year’s Lok Sabha election. “I have a lot of opportunities to serve people, and I’m doing it even now. Let’s see what happens”, said Tejaswini.

Ignoring social media rumours, Tejaswini said, “Nowadays, if we something on social media, it will be interpreted differently. Let’s see what happens in coming days”.
