SHIVAMOGGA, TUMAKURU: A fire broke out at a house at Aralimath village under Harogulige gram panchayat in Thirthahalli taluk on Thursday. A motorcycle was also burnt in the incident.
The incident occurred in Wednesday when the family members were asleep. Locals and neighbours noticed the fire inside the house and rescued the family.
The house belongs to one Ramappa and some kitchenware and groceries were burnt in the fire incident. Local residents and youths extinguished the fire. The incident occurred in Thirthahalli police station limits.
In a similar incident at Kanivenahalli village of Pavagada taluk, a house caught fire on Thursday, sparked by a short-circuit. The house belongs to Netravati. Some household items such as a television, fan, fridge, bags of rice and clothes were gutted. It is estimated that about Rs 2 lakh worth of household items were burnt.
