‘Honnali Don’, which had won several bull races, dies; MLA pays last respects

DAVANAGERE: A majestic bull, which had earned the moniker of ‘Honnali Don’ and was very popular in several neighbouring districts, died due to illness at Honnali on Friday.

The bull was owned by brothers Mahesh and Chandru and had a legion of fans in Davanagere, Shivamogga and Haveri districts. It had won several prizes at bull racing events.

Honnali MLA M P Renukacharya paid his last respects to the bull at the owners house on Friday evening. The bull was taken in a procession on Saturday and buried in the owners fields where a large number of people had gathered.
