BENGALURU: An Ahmedabad-bound IndiGo flight from Bengaluru was delayed by more than five hours after a hoax bomb note was discovered on board the aircraft on Thursday evening, airline sources said.
According to the sources, IndiGo flight 6E 6423, scheduled to depart for Ahmedabad at 8 pm, was immediately grounded for security checks after the note was found.
“A hoax bomb note was discovered on IndiGo flight 6E 6423 (BLR-AMD) scheduled to depart at 20:00 hrs. All standard operating procedures and security protocols were strictly followed”, airline sources said.
Following a comprehensive security sweep and completion of all mandatory safety checks, the aircraft was cleared for operations. The flight eventually departed for Ahmedabad at 1.21 am on Friday. Further details regarding the source of the hoax note are awaited. (ANI)
