MANGALURU: A notorious history-sheeter, who was released from jail on bail just a week ago, was chased and hacked to death at Kallapu on the outskirts of the city on Sunday night. The deceased is Kadappara Sameer from Ullal.
Sameer had gone to a hotel along with his mother and when he was coming out, a group chased him and hacked him to death with deadly weapons. Sameer sustained serious injuries and died a little while later.
Sameer was an accused in the murder of Target Ilyas. It is suspected that he was murdered due to old rivalry. Recently, Samir had also been attacked by fellow inmates inside Mangaluru jail. Senior police officers visited the spot. A case has been registered a further investigation is under way.
