BENGALURU: After the distribution of mantrakshate and invitations for the Pran Pratishta ceremony, Hindu organisations have now started distribution of lamps to homes and calling upon people to light them on January 22 on the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

With the countdown for Ram Lalla’s Prana Pratishtha at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya having begun, the occasion is being celebrated all over the country. As per the Prime Minister’s call, pro-Hindu organisations have started a campaign in the state to double the joy on the occasion.

Prime Minister Modi had encouraged people nationwide to light diyas at their homes in the northerly direction of their houses and offer prayers as all cannot participate in the programme on January 22.

Accordingly, the Sri Ram Sena in Bengaluru has started the campaign and is visiting houses in Dasarahalli Assembly constituency of the city. The lamps are made by Hindu workers themselves by spending money from their own pockets. Each packet contains an oil packet, five diyas, and cotton for wicks.

Besides distributing these lamps, the activists are also educating people on how to light lamps on that day. The Sri Ram Sene activists have planned to deliver lamps to all the houses in the entire constituency within the next two days.

The Sri Ram Sene has also requested that meat shops and bars be closed on January 22 and took out a rally distributing pamphlets to meat shop and bar owners in Jalahalli and Dasarahalli areas on Thursday.

The organisation has also appealled to the state government to declare a public holiday on January 22 and presented memoranda to all the district deputy commissioners.
