BENGALURU: The High Court is set to decide on a petition filed by the CID, seeking permission to arrest BJP MLA Byrathi Basavaraj in connection with the murder of history-sheeter Biklu Shiva.
After the case was transferred to the CID, the agency has been investigating the case and asserts that it has sufficient evidence to support Basavaraj’s arrest.
The court had previously restrained the authorities from taking any coercive action against Basavaraj. However, the CID argues that they have collected enough evidence during the investigation, which warrants Basavaraj’s arrest.
Basavaraj’s lawyers have filed an objection to the CID’s petition, and the court will take the decision after hearing the matter.
